Proposal funnel
The proposal funnel is the sequence a submitted Upwork proposal moves through, sent, viewed, replied, meeting booked and hired, which Upsight counts per proposal from Upwork's own records so that each stage is a share of the proposals that reached the stage before it.

Upwork's stats and trends page tracks the same idea in four steps, sent, viewed, interviews and hires, where an interview is a proposal that "led to client responses". It also splits proposals, views and responses into boosted and organic. Upwork shows these as counters per period; it does not show which proposal became which hire.
Upsight builds the funnel from the proposals themselves. Each proposal carries its own facts: when it was sent, whether and when the client opened it, whether the client wrote back, whether a call was booked through Upwork's scheduler in the message room, and whether Upwork's record now reads Hired. Because the stages nest, the chart draws them as disjoint bands that add up to the number sent: hired, replied, viewed only, not viewed. A later stage is never allowed to exceed an earlier one, and when Upwork's own counters disagree that way the chart says it capped them rather than hiding it.
Two choices decide whether the funnel can be trusted. Outreach only by default: an accepted invitation costs no Connects and is answered far more often than a cold proposal, so mixing the two flatters every rate; Upsight separates them and says on screen what it left out. Old enough to count: a proposal sent yesterday has not had its chance, so rates are computed over proposals that have been followed for an outcome, with that count shown.
What the funnel cannot see: a call arranged outside Upwork's scheduler, and a hire the client makes later through a new post or a direct offer, which Upwork does not tie back to the original proposal.
How Upsight uses it. The funnel heads proposal analytics per member, campaign and keyword, and reply rate, proposal view rate and win rate are its steps.
