Catalog order
A catalog order is a client's purchase of a Project Catalog project, which creates a contract whose delivery clock starts only when the client has submitted the requirements the freelancer asked for.

Buying a catalog project creates a contract, found under Manage work, Your contracts, with a workroom for messages, steps and delivery. The order then runs on fixed clocks set by Upwork:
- 48 hours to submit requirements. If the freelancer marked requirements as mandatory and the client misses that window, the order is cancelled and fully refunded automatically.
- Delivery counts from the moment all required materials arrive, not from purchase. In Upwork's example, a 5-day project whose requirements arrive 12 hours after purchase starts its first day at that point.
- 14 days to review delivered work, approving payment or requesting changes, as with a fixed-price milestone. With no action in 14 days, Upwork approves the project and releases payment.
- 24 hours after purchase, the client can cancel for a full refund, for example after buying the wrong project. A freelancer can also cancel within 24 hours of receiving the requirements.
- Five business days for a client to respond if the freelancer disputes a cancellation after delivery; with no response, the funds go to the freelancer. Refunds on cancelled orders arrive within five business days.
After the project ends, client and freelancer each have 14 days to leave feedback.
What this means for the seller. Requirements are the gate. Clear, short mandatory requirements get the clock started; vague ones delay it, and a client who never sends them gets a refund. A seller who is busy can lower the maximum number of simultaneous orders or switch a project's visibility off rather than cancel orders.
How Upsight uses it. Upsight's Services module reads each listing's order count from the seller's project dashboard and sets it beside the listing's views, so a project that is seen but never bought stands out.
