Featured Jobs carry a badge and a blue banner and appear "more prominently in search results and job feeds", in Upwork's words. The client has paid to have the project highlighted to reach more freelancers. Upwork is explicit about what the badge is not: it runs no special review of featured posts and does not screen the clients who choose the option.

What the client gets. On the client side, a featured post sits in top spots on relevant freelancers' home pages, is showcased in emails to Top Rated and Rising Talent freelancers and agencies, and can send more invitations per day than a standard post. The fee is a one-time charge with free renewals. This freelancer article does not state the price.

What it signals to a bidder. A client who paid to promote a post is usually serious about hiring soon, which is why Upwork's beginner guide tells freelancers to watch for the banner. It also means more freelancers see the post, so read the proposals range and the client panel before treating the badge as an advantage. A featured post from a client without a verified payment method is still a client without a verified payment method.

How Upsight uses it. Upwork's job data carries the featured flag, and Upsight stores it with every job it ingests. A campaign can be restricted to featured jobs only, which narrows it to clients who have already spent money to hire, and the targeting preview shows how much of the match set that filter keeps.
