Keyword rank
Keyword rank is the position at which a profile appears in Upwork's talent search results for a given keyword on a given day, which Upsight records daily for every tracked profile, including the agencies and freelancers ranked above it.

Upwork's talent search is public: a client, or anyone, types a keyword and gets pages of profiles, filtered by country, by agency or freelancer, by badge and by availability. Upwork publishes no explanation of the order, and the position is not shown to the profile owner anywhere in the account, which is why "my profile is not showing in search" is one of the oldest unanswered threads in Upwork's community.
The position is per keyword and per filter. The same agency can sit on page one for one phrase and nowhere in the first hundred for a near synonym, and a country filter changes the list entirely. It also moves daily, with badges, the Availability badge, recent activity and the JSS of the profiles around you all visible on the result tiles.
Upsight reads the first 500 results for each tracked keyword every day, 1,000 for keywords with a turn, and records the position of every profile the workspace tracks. "Not in the top 500" is a measurement, not a missing one. Alongside the position it keeps who was on page one and what they showed: badges, availability, skills.
How Upsight uses it. Rank tracking works on public data and needs no account access, which is why it is the part of Upsight an agency can try on the pipeline audit before connecting anything. The daily series is the second line of the ledger next to proposal view rate, and the Ranking Coach reads the page-one profiles when it explains a move. UpHunt's rank checker, for comparison, ranks earnings as a percentile and is not a search position.
