Top Rated Plus
Top Rated Plus is the Upwork badge for the top 3% of talent: Top Rated status maintained, earnings over $10,000 in the past 12 months ($20,000 for an agency) and at least one large contract in that time without a negative outcome.
Updated
Upwork adds three conditions to Top Rated. For a freelancer or a non-exclusive agency member: total earnings over $10,000 in the past 12 months; one or more large contracts in the past 12 months without negative outcomes, with funds earned on that contract within the window; and Top Rated status maintained. For an agency or an exclusive member: earnings over $20,000, large contracts with fewer than 10% negative outcomes, and Top Rated maintained. When an agency earns the badge, "all eligible exclusive agency members automatically inherit that badge too".
"Large" is defined per category. For freelancers the thresholds run from $5,000 (Design and Creative, Engineering and Architecture, Legal, Translation, Writing) through $10,000 (Accounting and Consulting, Admin Support, Data Science and Analytics, IT and Engineering, Sales and Marketing) to $15,000 for Web, Mobile and Software Development and $20,000 for Customer Support. Agency thresholds are $10,000, $20,000 and $30,000 for the same groups, and $20,000 for Customer Service. A rule that you must hold Top Rated for 90 days first appears on third-party blogs and not on Upwork's page.
Perks are Top Rated's plus priority customer support. Progress towards each condition is shown under My stats.
How Upsight uses it. As with Top Rated, Upsight reads the badge from the roster and from page one of each tracked keyword's search results and records it against keyword rank; the earnings conditions themselves are visible only to the account holder, so Upsight never estimates who is close. Upwork Insights carries the badge's share across agencies by country.
