Saved jobs

Saved jobs are individual job posts a freelancer has bookmarked on Upwork with the heart button or the Save job link, kept under Find Work so they can be reviewed and applied to later.

Saving a job takes one click: the heart next to a job in search results, or Save job in the job details. The list lives under Find Work, Saved jobs. Saving costs nothing, and nothing in Upwork's article suggests the client is told; it works as a private bookmark.

Saved jobs are not saved searches. A saved search keeps a set of filters and shows new matches on your job feed, and Upwork allows up to 30 of them. A saved job is one post, held in your list while the post itself keeps moving: its proposal count rises, the client may start interviewing or hire, and the post can be closed or removed. The article gives no limit on how many jobs you can save.

When it helps. Saving is a way to hold a job you want to answer properly: one that needs a sample, a scoped estimate or a teammate's input. It is a poor way to queue ordinary bids, because every hour a job waits in your list is an hour in which other proposals arrive and the client starts reading them.

Before you apply from the list, reopen the post and check that it is still open, where its proposals range stands, how many freelancers are interviewing, and when the client last viewed it. A job saved yesterday can be a different job today, and Connects spent on a post that has quietly filled are not returned.
